We’ve all heard the popular gardening phrase ‘chop and drop’ and it (literally) is just that – chop off the unwanted green waste and let it drop, be it hedge clippings piled around the base of the hedge, old vegetable plants snipped off at ground level and
chopped up with secateurs, or end-of-season perennials cut back and scattered over the ground to cover (and feed) the soil over winter. Its a fast-track way to return green goodness to your soil. For tips on composting your green waste first before you feed it to the soil, check out the latest issue of #kiwigardener - look for the green kale heart on the cover, in stores now! #compost #chopanddrop
